Welcome To The Louisville TimeBank
Everyone has talents to share, and the overall community is strengthened when neighbors help one another. For every hour that you help meet the needs of another Louisville TimeBank member, you earn a time dollar for the exchange. This time dollar can then be redeemed for services from others, and the cycle of reciprocity continues! The TimeBank as of February 2013 has 180 members and has a wide range of talents.
We can't wait to meet you and help you to start exchanging time!

So What is TimeBanking?

Members earn time dollars by using their time, evergy, skills, and talents to help others. Members trade all types of every day services, including gardening, minor home repair, transportation, computer maintenance, tutoring, etc. Services may vary widely depending on the skills, talents, and abilities of the current members. Time Banking welcomes all to participate, including youth and the elderly.

TimeBanking Core Values
1. We are all assets.
Every human being has something to contribute. 2. Some work is beyond price.
Work has to be redefined to value whatever it takes to raise healthy children, build strong families, revitalize neighborhoods, make democracy work, advance social justice, make the planet sustainable. That kind of work needs to be honored, recorded and rewarded. 3. Helping works better as a two-way street.
The question: “How can I help you?” needs to change so we ask: “How can we help each other build the world we both will live in?” 4. We need each other.
People helping each other reweave communities of support, strength & trust. Community is built upon sinking roots, building trust, creating networks that are built on mutual respect and commitment. 5. Respect demands accountability.
The voices of all must be heard and heeded so as to promote social justice and compel accountability.
